I’m running for Mayor because I believe Lee’s Summit deserves thoughtful leadership that puts people first - leadership rooted in common sense, community values, and a deep love for this city.

Job Creation

I am committed to creating more high paying job opportunities! I will work closely with the Economic Development Council, civic leaders, workforce development and our local business owners to attract and grow jobs in key industries like transportation, technology, and aviation. When people can live and work in the same community, everyone benefits, including existing businesses. Local jobs mean stronger families, more home ownership, and a more resilient and robust economy. It gives our residents the chance to build wealth and invest in their future, right here at home. Every year, we lose hundreds of jobs to communities just across the state line. That needs to change. I want to keep those jobs, and that talent, on this side of the state line.

Affordable Housing

The Right Way - affordable housing doesn’t mean more apartments or government subsidies. We are way beyond our projected growth of 8300 apartment units by the year 2032 according to our 2020 Ignite Comprehensive plan. We currently have around 9300 units built, under construction or approved. I am not against apartments nor people who choose to live that lifestyle. I and many others in this community simply do not want to continue this trend with no offset of attainable single family homes being built to balance out available housing stock.

Lee’s Summit is ready for real solutions, homes for first-time buyers, senior-friendly housing that meets both lifestyle and financial needs, and pathways to homeownership for public servants like our teachers, police officers, and firefighters. Lee’s Summit was built on homeownership. It’s a cornerstone of our success and a key part of the American dream. I am currently working on this initiative with builders and developers on practical, local solutions to address our housing needs.

Police & Fire Support

Our first responders deserve respect, resources, and results. Keeping our city safe is not just about public safety - it’s about economic development, quality of life, and community trust. Public safety plays hand in hand with the reasons employers choose a city to build new businesses and why families want to live in a community. I will stand with our police officers, firefighters, and emergency personnel, making sure they have what is needed to recruit and retain best of class individuals in order to serve and protect our city.

Incentives & Responsible Growth

Incentives are important tools, but they must be used strategically and transparently. I always support development when it meets a real need and benefits our city as a whole. However, filling every empty lot with something just for the sake of growth is not being intentional. I will be diligent in getting the best return on investment for every tax dollar spent and stay focused on well-planned, community-driven development that strengthens our economy and protects our neighborhoods. Maintaining infrastructure, roads, highways and stormwater are the cornerstone of our city's service to its citizens. Council and staff make this a priority now and I will continue this work with our staff and City Council to ensure that these services are met.

More than policies or plans, leadership starts with integrity. I believe in transparency, honesty, and follow-through. If I tell you I will do something, I do it. You don’t get very far in business without it and my track record as a Realtor and business owner has proven I am a woman of my word! To me, leadership has always meant putting others first and showing up, every time, ready to do the hard work. The most meaningful accomplishments in life are rarely easy. I’m not afraid of challenges, and I don’t back down from tough conversations.
